Happy Fitness Friday! We are officially 9 months postpartum. My boy has tripled in weight since coming home from the hospital which completely blows my mind. Tripled in weight! You can grow a human with nothing but your boobs*. Holy miracle of life. We are still breastfeeding and he sleeps from 8:30pm – 4:30am every night. He’s also cruising on furniture and standing on his own. Our routine is solid and it makes me happy because I thrive off of routine.
As for me, they say 9 months to grow, 9 months to get back. This is more or less true. At 9 months postpartum, there are some things that still suck, like long distance trail running or high rep core movements (think GHDs/hollow rocks) but for the most part, everything is back to normal. Or as normal as possible after squeezing a watermelon through a bagel. I apologize for the visual. My exercise or diet has not affected my milk supply and my weight is below pre pregnancy.
This week is the heaviest I have gone in weight since before regionals. The stairs still remain a feat today. There were a couple days when I didn’t feel like working out because I was sore as sh*t but I did. You can always find a million excuses as to why you can’t but just remember, you don’t have to work out, you GET to work out. My mom recently had hip replacement surgery and I’m 100% sure she’d rather be doing burpees or lunges in the driveway with me than going to physical therapy and walking on crutches. It’s all about perspective!
Have a SAFE and happy weekend y’all!
